This half-day family-friendly adventure takes visitors through an upper section of the Dove River. You’ll journey through quartzite gorges surrounded by button-grass and ancient King Billie pines. You might even spot a few wombats. Suitable for children over eight, the trip is mostly floating and swimming with a few optional challenges and cliff-jumps.
Meet at the Cradle Mountain Canyons office, next to the Cradle Mountain Visitor Information Centre for transfer to the canyon

WHAT TO BRING
Something to go under your wetsuit (bathers or undies will suffice. A rash-vest or thermal top if you have them are good.) Whatever you wear under your wetsuit will get wet, so dry undies and socks are good to have to get changed into
Light clothes in which to walk into the canyon. Shorts and t-shirt or whatever you like. You can choose to walk into the canyon in either the canyoning shoes we provide or your own footwear
Neoprene, woollen or polar fleece socks (not cotton) to wear under your booties
A hat, drink bottle and sun-cream. You will not need these while canyoning, but they are good to have for the walk into and out of the canyon
If you require the aid of glasses, you will need to bring a strap to secure them
Any medications you require. Please notify your guide prior to the tour of any medical/physical conditions you feel we need to know about. If you need to bring medication, we can carry it in our waterproof first aid kit
Do not bring anything valuable with you. The river gods have a taste for jewellery and Swiss watches
Child friendly: Yes. Suitable for children 8 and over.
Difficulty: Nice and easy. Walking and floating through a beautiful section of river, with optional jumps and other challenges along the way.
We recommend not bringing cameras. They tend to get dropped to the bottom of the river and cause injuries when jumping off waterfalls. We take photos of every tour and they are available for purchase. 2013/14 prices are $40 for a USB loaded with all the photos of the tour (usually between 100 and 200 photos).
Park fees are not included in the tour price. We recommend arriving early and purchasing passes from the Visitor Information Centre prior to the trip departure.
