THE DETAILS

$1,450 per person (plus $310 single supplement)

Explore beaches, coves and stunning clifftop vistas as you hike the four best days of the Great Ocean Walk, carrying only a daypack and returning each night to the historic Cape Otway Lighthouse for a comfortable bed and a meal prepared by your guides. On day four you’ll finish your walk at the famous Twelve Apostles, where magnificent rock stacks rise up from the Southern Ocean.

  • Difficulty: This trip requires a good level of fitness. Walking is of easy to moderate difficulty.

  • Post-trip flights from Melbourne airport should be booked no earlier than 7.30pm.
  • Pickup from Avalon airport can be arranged at the star of the trip, at around 8.30am.

ITINERARY

Day One 7 km walk
Depart Melbourne 7.30am. Morning tea – Anglesea. Lunch and walk briefing Apollo Bay. Begin at the very start of the Great Ocean Walk in Apollo Bay. Walk via Marengo and Elliot River, past exposed headlands, wild beaches and lush rainforest. Arrive at the Cape Otway Light Station approx. 5pm. Two-course dinner prepared by guides at Cape Otway Lightstation
Day Two 10 – 16km walk
Walk begins from Cape Otway Lightstation (right at our front door!)The views are superb and this section of the walk. The views are superb and this section of the walk. Lunch at the Aire River campground – a lovely tidal river here meets the rolling green hills of the Otways. Here you have the option of finishing for the day or continuing to Castle Cove. Two-course dinner prepared by guides at Cape Otway Lightstation. Overnight at Cape Otway Lightstation.
Day Three 10 – 14km walk
Milanesia Beach, through Ryan’s Den to Moonlight Head. You also have the option of adding another 4kms to the walk from Moonlight Head to the Gables. Lunch at Ryans Den. Two-course dinner prepared by guides at Cape Otway Lightstation. Overnight at Cape Otway Lightstation.
Day Four 8km walk
Princetown to the Twelve Apostles. Today’s walk follows the cliff lines of the Great Ocean Walk finishing at the iconic Twelve Apostles. The walk is easy to moderate nature, allowing plenty of time to soak up the views. Lunch. Afternoon tea – Colac (own expense). Return to Melbourne (approx. 5.30pm).
