$1,480 per person (plus $225 single supplement

Spend 4 days hiking in the Cradle Mountain Region with a group of like-minded women. Carrying only a day pack, you’ll explore ancient boardwalks, fragile alpine heathlands, and glacial lakes, returning each night to a comfortable cabin. Please be aware that the hiking each day can be challenging and weather can be changeable, as this is a rugged alpine environment.

  • Walking distance: 6 – 12 kilometres per day
  • Difficulty: You will need to be fit and in good health in order to enjoy the experience.
  • Child friendly: No.
  • We strongly recommend that all people over the age of 50 have a medical check up before walking the Trail, and to consult your Doctor if you have any ongoing health problems that might affect you over a 8 day walk. Then we suggest some warm-up walks, increasing in length over a period of 4 to 6 weeks prior to walking the Pilgrim Trail. In that way you will be fit and able to fully enjoy a really memorable experience.

Day One 9km (easy)
Depart Launceston 8am. Travel approximately 2 hours and arrive at Cradle Mountain Village for morning tea. Your guides will have lunch laid out for guests to make their own sandwiches. Walk 5.5km along the beautifully scenic Cradle Valley Boardwalk and onto historic Waldheim. Afternoon walk part of the walk up the Maryland Track on the iconic Overland Track. This section visits some beautiful waterfalls and the trail leads up to the Cradle Mountain plateau. Fabulous two-course dinner prepared by your guides
Day Two 12 km (med to hard)
Starting from Dove Lake we walk up to Marion’s Lookout. This is a challenging section but it yields an enormous reward and the views are magnificent. Today’s walk is approx. 7 to 8 hours on the trail. We then walk onto Kitchen’s Hut and stop for lunch. We head back down the Kitchen Hut trail and back to Dove Lake via Wombat Pool and Lake Lilla. Delicious two-course dinner prepared by your guides.
Day Three 10kms (med to hard)
Today we head off on the Hanson’s Peak and Twisted Lakes walk. We head up over Hanson’s Peak, around the Twisted Lakes and onto the Face Track which passes underneath the ‘face’ of Cradle Mountain. A moderate walk with some challenging sections but the views are some of the most amazing in Cradle Mountain. Today’s walk is approx. 7 to 8 hours on the trail. Lovely two-course dinner prepared by your guides.
Day Four 6 km (easy)
Walk around beautiful Dove Lake. This is a lovely relaxed walk with iconic Cradle Mountain in the background. Lunch at Cradle Village. Stop at Sheffield for afternoon tea (own expense).
